We wanted a flexible day exploring the beautiful Apokoronas area, with a few places already in mind, and Markis was the perfect guide. He shared so much interesting local knowledge and great recommendations while giving us the freedom to spend as much time as we wanted at each stop. It felt like spending the day with a knowledgeable local friend rather than being on a tour.

From Kalami to Gavalochori, every stop was beautiful, and the whole day was easily one of the highlights of our holiday. Everyone in our group had an amazing time.

One thing we especially appreciated was how Markis always had the van lovely and cool for us whenever we got back in after exploring—such a thoughtful touch in the Cretan sunshine! He didn't just walk us through the trail; he provided a truly honest and unique experience, sharing deep insights into the breathtaking Cretan nature and the warmth of the local culture and humanity. His passion for the island is contagious, and he made us feel safe, engaged, and inspired every step of the way.

We also want to send a huge thank you to our driver, Alex. After a very long and physically demanding day in the gorge, it was such a relief to be in good hands. Alex drove us back incredibly carefully and smoothly, allowing us to completely relax and rest on the journey home.

First up was the olive oil tasting, lovely people & a gorgeous setting we could have stayed all day.
Next up the brewery where we had a tour of the factory, drank some fantastic brews & enjoyed lunch once again in an amazing setting.
They also showed us an ancient olive tree on the way home. It was a very special day.

Excellent Transfer Service with Chania Activities  - We recently used Chania Activities for a private transfer, and our driver Makis was absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, everything was smooth and professional. We arranged all the details... read more easily through WhatsApp — Makis was very responsive and kept in touch right up until the day of the transfer.
Our journey was from Souda Port to Marathi Beach, with a return later in the day. We had agreed on times beforehand, and everything ran perfectly on schedule. During the drive, Makis was super friendly, attentive, and informative, sharing interesting facts about the area and local life.
When we arrived at Marathi Beach, he gave us great local tips on where to eat and which part of the beach to head for — his recommendations were spot on! Throughout the day, he stayed in contact, letting us know he was flexible with pickup times in case we wanted to leave earlier.
Makis is genuinely one of the most professional and thoughtful drivers we’ve ever met. Reliable, friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. I’d highly recommend him and Chania Activities to anyone arriving into Chania or Souda — a truly excellent service from start to finish.
